The New Snake Oil Salesmen

I recently posted the following opinion on LinkedIn and almost 11,000 people have viewed it.  It apparently hit a nerve.

“In the old days, ‘snake oil salesmen’ sold expensive products that were supposed to cure maladies but instead made people sicker and dependent upon the snake oil itself. Today, problems like employee turnover and dissatisfaction continue to increase, but the people who are in charge of hiring and creating policies that might solve these problems (‘human resources professionals’ and ‘recruiting firms’) NEVER lose THEIR jobs. They talk about the problems, hold conferences and continue to be highly paid – while both employees and businesses suffer and pay the price.

Maybe it’s just me, but I think we should find a better way. How about you?  #dotherightthing”
