Talent Economy Interviews Russ Minary About Meritocracy

Lauren Dixon of Talent Economy interviewed me for an article on meritocracy.  My view: it’s human nature to desire recognition or a reward for going the ‘extra mile.’  People will do more and give more – if they can expect more in return.  Leaders must understand that without rewards and recognition for ‘above and beyond’ performance, the average person delivers only what is expected, the average, just enough, the minimum, mediocrity.  Read this fascinating article and get some great ideas on motivating your people.
